What a Treat!

We’ve been training, this week, with the top Norwegian duo, Skarlund and Spinnangr. Yesterday they asked us to play a fun match on center court this evening to kick off the tournament for a full house of 5,000 spectators! Martin Reader, eat your heart out. These moments are meant for you!!!
It was thoroughly enjoyable!! We had some great rallies and Christian introduced his aptly named “cannonball” serve (a serve that is generally called a “skyball” but our hosts have renamed it!).
The level was great and the crowd loved it. I, of course, had to steal the mic from the announcer and give the crowd my 2 cents along with some lame-o break dancing during my intro. Gosh, I am soooo like my dad!!
A great time.
Martin Reader, for those of you who don’t know him, is a fan favourite in the sport of beach volleyball. People, including me, shamelessly, flock to where Reader is playing hoping to get even just a taste of some of his great one-liners or his never duplicated showmanship. Its all in good taste and we, all the players on tour, love him for it.Check out the photos section for more from this match!
